TRC Holds Police Training in Jericho

  • As part of its ongoing efforts to promote human rights standards within correctional facilities, the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture held a training session titled:"The Treatment of Female Inmates Based on Internationally Recognized Human Rights Approaches", on Monday, 7 July 2025, at the Palm Palace Hotel in Jericho.  
    The session was organized under the project “Ensuring the Protection of Female Inmates and Marginalized Women During the State of Emergency in Palestine”, implemented with the support of the Sawasya Joint Programme through UN Women.

    The training targeted 20 police officers, focusing on enhancing their skills in managing female inmates and emphasizing the importance of self-care for staff working in correctional institutions.
    📌 Colonel Raed Rimawi, Director of the Jericho Correction and Rehabilitation Center, attended the session, welcomed the participants, and highlighted the value of such trainings. The session was facilitatedby Manar Arar, head of the Treatment Department at the Center, and clinical psychologist Rasha Fkheida.
    The training saw active engagement and meaningful participation, contributing to its overall success.
