On Sunday 12/5/2024, Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture held a workshop under the title of “Enhancing Accountability and Protection against Acts of Torture by Palestinian Security Services” for twenty officers of police forces in Al-bireh municipality hall. This workshop falls under Project “Strengthening and Enhancing Rehabilitation, Prevention of Torture, and Accountability in Palestine” funded by the European Union. Juvenile Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Thaer Khalil facilitated the workshop, and shed light on torture, its different types and devastating effects, and legal and administrative procedures to prevent torture. Head of Treatment Department, Clinical Psychologist Manar Arar also explained the psychological effects of torture.
