and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture (TRC) February Report
TRC continues to provide treatment and rehabilitation services,
directing its services to those affected by the occupation forces, and their
families. The center also works on spreading awareness in the community and
disseminating knowledge on the topics of mental health, prevention of trauma
and human rights, as well as capacity-building, and issuing reports related to
mental health and human rights.
During the month of February, 424 beneficiaries
received more than 800 therapy and counseling sessions, disaggregated by sex at
a rate of 131 males and 293 females, of whom 152 are children. 13 of those are
released prisoners, 40 cases are families of prisoners, 59 cases are families
of martyrs, and 100 cases are victims of war and other segments. The work
focused on the most affected areas, with 90 cases in Jerusalem, 94 in Jenin, 53
in Hebron, 51 in Nablus, 30 in Jericho, and 18 in Tubas. Our staff also reached
64 beneficiaries in the Gaza Strip, using a mobile clinic in Rafah. Services were
also provided to 332 beneficiaries through our free hotline, 146 of them from
Gaza.
The
center also held trainings targeting students and workers in related fields. A training
was held for 25 nursing students from Ibn Sina college. The center also conducted
two workshops to raise awareness about mental health, PFA, and narrative therapy
for 34 service providers. 3 cases of torture were also documented by our
employees.
