On Tuesday 9/1/2024, Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture conducted a workshop in Women’s Center Shofat in East Jerusalem under the title of “Positive Parenting for Parents and Caregivers.” The workshop dealt with the concept of positive education and the principles underlying it. It also dealt with ways to use positive education approaches in the lives of parents and day-to-day caregivers. The components of positive education have been detailed from setting long-term goals to providing structure and tenderness to understanding children's feelings and needs according to different stages of life up to solving problems.
The meeting addressed the topic of effective communication between parents and children, how to formulate and communicate messages and take advantage of life attitudes to pass educational values for the child in the long term.
Special thanks to our Jerusalem Staff, social worker Renad Salah and Clinical Psychologist Linda Mustafa from TRC for coordinating and supervising, and Mrs. Fidaa Taha who facilitated this training workshop.
