Treatment and Rehabilitation Center has conducted
two workshops under the title of “Capacity building for nonprofessional child
protection service providers” on Wednesday and Thursday 25-26/10/2023 Via Zoom
and Teams within the project “Safeguarding Children’s Rights in East Jerusalem:
Reaching out with specialized rehabilitation and therapeutic services to the
most vulnerable children and their families in East Jerusalem”. The workshops
targeted service providers specifically, and 50 beneficiaries attended over the
two sessions.
The workshop included talks about Psychological
First Aid (PFA) during crisis to help reduce initial distress and trauma in
emergencies, and to help students return to their usual school activities after
such an event. The workshop aims to raise awareness of appropriate mechanisms
for intervening in times of crisis and providing knowledge about effective ways
to intervene in such situations, as well as mechanisms for dealing with
children, and activities related to feelings and thoughts.
Specialist Asma Sharbati conducted both workshops.
