On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, TRC held a
training workshop titled "Enhancing Community Capacities in Identifying,
Preventing, and Responding to Violence against Children and Ensuring Better
Child Protection from Various Forms of Violence." The workshop took place
in Sheikh Jarrah at the National Hotel - Jerusalem.
This event was part of our project titled
"Safeguarding Children’s rights in East Jerusalem: Reaching out with
specialized rehabilitation and therapeutic services to the most vulnerable
children and their families in East Jerusalem". Approximately 28
participants attended the workshop.
The workshop aimed to enhance the capacities
of mothers, fathers, and caregivers in building secure and healthy
relationships between parents and children. Additionally, it aimed to foster
more engaged communities in protecting the rights of all children to grow in an
environment free from all forms of violence and discrimination, regardless of
age, gender, disability, or any other social or economic harm.
The workshop was conducted by professional
trainer Diaa Othman and coordinated by Psychologists Ghada Sukhoun and Hadeel
Abu Kamel, under the supervision of Clinical Psychologist Linda Mustafa from
the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture. Special thanks
to the National Hotel - Jerusalem for hosting this workshop.
