TRC Conducts Training Workshop in Shu’fat Refugee Camp/East Jerusalem
On Sunday, September 3, 2023 TRC
conducted a training workshop titled "Enhancing Community Capacities in
Identifying, Preventing, and Responding to Violence against Children and
Ensuring Better Child Protection from Various Forms of Violence." The
workshop took place in Shu’fat Refugee Camp at Al-Quds Charitable Society for
Disabled and Special Education.
This event was part of the project
"Safeguarding Children’s rights in East Jerusalem: Reaching out with
specialized rehabilitation and therapeutic services to the most vulnerable
children and their families in East Jerusalem". Approximately 33
participants attended the workshop.
The workshop aimed to enhance the
capacities of mothers, fathers, and caregivers in building secure and healthy
relationships between parents and children. Additionally, it aimed to foster
more engaged communities in protecting the rights of all children to grow in an
environment free from all forms of violence and discrimination, regardless of
age, gender, disability, or any other social or economic harm.
The workshop was conducted by
professional trainer Diaa Othman and coordinated by Psychologists Hadeel Abu
Kamel and Roa Halawah, under the supervision of Clinical Psychologist Linda
Mustafa from the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture.
