On Thursday, August 31, 2023 TRC conducted a training workshop titled
"Enhancing Community Capacities in Identifying, Preventing, and Responding
to Violence against Children and Ensuring Better Child Protection from Various
Forms of Violence." The workshop took place in Al-Issawiya at the One Hand
for Al-Issawiya Association.
This event is part of the project "Protecting Children's Rights in
East Jerusalem: Access to Specialized Rehabilitation and Treatment Services for
the Most Marginalized Children and Their Families." Approximately 40
participants attended the workshop.
The activity aimed to enhance the capacities of mothers, fathers, and
caregivers in building secure and healthy relationships between parents and
children. Additionally, it aimed to foster more engaged communities in
protecting the rights of all children to grow in an environment free from all
forms of violence and discrimination, regardless of age, gender, disability, or
any other social or economic harm.
The workshop was conducted by the trainer Diaa Othman and supervised by
clinical psychologists Linda Mustafa and Hadeel Abu Kamel from the Treatment
and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture. The coordination of the
workshop was overseen by Ms. Maram Douik from the One Hand for Al-Issawiya
Association.
