TRC's Crisis Intervention Team conducted a
special monitoring field visit to Jenin refugee camp on July 11, 2023, to
assess the damage and determine what further assistance may be needed. The
visit was carried out in coordination with the psychological support team for
the camp. The member of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Rima Jarrar, also participated
in the visit.
The team provided the Primary Psychological
Aid to several affected families in particular for women and children. The goal
of the Primary Psychological Aid is to help individuals cope with the immediate
aftermath of a traumatic event, prevent the development of more serious mental
health problems, and promote resilience and recovery.
The Primary Psychological Aid is a type of
early intervention designed to address the immediate psychological needs of
individuals who have experienced a traumatic event. It involves providing
emotional support, practical assistance, and information to help individuals
feel safe and secure and to promote their overall well-being.
This kind of support can be crucial in
helping individuals cope with the trauma they have experienced and begin to heal.
